29 Weeks!

So I am now officially 29 weeks! We finally took some new "Belly Pics" today. Here they are:

This weekend we started working on the nursery. We started painting, and I finished recovering the Glider and ottoman to match the baby bedding. It's so cute. Here are some pics:

Easter pics

We had a nice quiet Easter this year at our house. It was the first time we have every stayed home for Easter and I missed my family, but we still had a nice time. We took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese(Savannah's first time), and we also died Easter Eggs. Here are a few pics:

80 Days and Counting

Well I officially have 80 days left until my due date! It is getting closer. I did get diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes which I am not happy about. My levels weren't extremely high, but high enough that I have to start testing my blood sugar 4 times a day and go on a special diet. They did a sonogram and the baby is fine. She is not growing too much and hasn't been affected by this. It is usually diagnosed at the beginning of the 3rd trimester and fortunately it does usually go away after the baby is born, so that's a good thing. I nutritionist came over last night and brought my equipment and showed me how to test and then went over the diet with me. It is really healthy which is good. I am just so overwhelmed by all of this. Not only do I have to prick my finger 4 times a day and keep track of my numbers, I also have to follow this diet and eat every three hours and only eat certain things at each meal. No more sweets, juice, cereal, and only a little bit of fruit and milk in the afternoon or evening. I also have to write down everything I eat at each meal and how much of it. It is going to take a lot of planning. I also have to exercise 30 minutes a day so we will be walking in the evening. I hope I can keep up with it all! I guess I won't be having cake at my sisters reception. That will be tough.
So far my first 4 glucose levels have been in the normal range, so that's good. I think if I follow the diet I won't need medication so that's good news. I go back in 1 week with my numbers to discuss it with the doctor.
We have also decided to pull Savannah out of her daycare and go back to an in-home daycare center. First of all since I will be taking both girls to school in the morning I need them to both go to the same place. I would prefer a home daycare for Tabitha so that she has more attention than she would at a big daycare. Also, I think Savannah will actually get more 1 on 1 attention with learning too. We interviewed 3 people and have found someone that we really love. She has been doing this for 15 years and only keeps up to 6 kids at a time. She has room for both girls (Savannah now and Tabitha in August), so it is going to work out great. Her name is Mrs. Gretchen, and I just love her. I talked to all of her references and they couldn't say enough good things about her and how great she is with the kids. What also really stood out is that she is great with the parents too and they all say she is like a family member and that they love her as if she was. She bonds with the kids but also teaches them a lot. She also lives very close to us and is much less expensive, which is going to take a huge burden off of Dean. He has been stressing out about daycare.
So, we got 2 big things out of the way- The minivan and daycare. Our next big thing will be getting the house ready for baby. Our house is under contract until the end of June and I think we will leave it on the market, but start preparing to stay as well. We are going to get French doors and put them in our dining room and convert it to a bedroom for Nicholas. We will start that in May. Then his old room will become Tabitha's room which will be good because it is directly across from ours. Home Depot here we come!
Right now I am looking forward to next weekend when we get to go to Houston and see my family for my sister's reception. It is going to be a lot of fun!

Finally!

So I'm finally in my third trimester and on the downhill stretch. Yeah!! I went to the doctor last week and everything is progressing along. I took the 1 hour glucose test and it came back negative so tomorrow I go back for a 3 hour glucose test to find out if I have Gestational Diabetes. A lot of women fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour, so I am not too worried. I didn't have it last time and I have eaten a lot better this time and gained less weight, so hopefully I don't have it. I go in at 8:30 in the morning and have to stay there for three hours and have my blood tested every hour after I drink this very sweet drink. I can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight until I drink the juice, and then I won't be able to eat until about noon. Pray for me that I can make it! 12 hours without eating for a pregnant women is tough! I also am slightly anemic so I have to start taking iron supplements, which is pretty common in pregnancy, but hopefully that is what has been making me so tired and maybe they will help. I am feeling okay. A lot more tired than I remember the first time a round, and I am starting to feel the pains of pregnancy with a growing belly, but it is so worth it!

I also had another sonogram and got to see lots of pics of Tabitha. She is growing well and about at the 2 pound mark now. Savannah was with me and got to see too and she was so excited.

I read in my books that at this point baby's lungs are actually capable of breathing, which means if they were to be born prematurely, they'd have a very high chance of surviving. I feel like I can take a little breath of relief now and not worry quite so much.

On another note, we have now gotten down all of Savannah's baby stuff and gone through it to see what we need. I am glad I saved a lot of her stuff. I am just so excited to start working on the nursery at some point. We will start at the beginning of May. This weekend a friend of mine came over and helped me recover the glider/rocker with a pink chenille dot fabric that is so soft. It is adorable!

We have also now finished our registries. I say registries because we have registered at several places because I couldn't find everything at 1 or 2 places. Tabitha's nursery is going to pink and brown, so that is our theme. We are registered at Babies R Us, Baby Depot(at Burlington Coat Factory), Target, and on Amazon.com(they have a lot of great stuff). Babies R Us has a lot of stuff, but they are out of the Bouncer and Pack N Play we want so that is why we registered at Baby Depot. Target has a few things we like, and for some people it is a lot more convenient. We are having 2 baby showers- one in Houston at my parents house on May 24, and one in Dallas at our house on May 31. This is just how it worked out with planning, so they will be back to back, but I will still have another month to get it all together afterwards. I am hoping the next couple of months go by quickly and we are all really excited.
