Updates on the nursery

We got a lot done in the nursery this weekend, but not everything. I am exhausted! It was a lot of work. We still have some touch-up to do and I still need to finish putting up the ribbon on the wall. The ribbon went up great with glue dots so it was really easy! We decided to put the same ribbon up at the top of the wall next to the ceiling so we don't have to paint around the ceiling since I can't get up on the ladder and my hubby would get pink paint all over the ceiling. I also have to hang th wall letters and a few things on the wall as well as a mirror over the dresser. We will paint the dresser white eventually since it is off-white right now. The swing is in the corner temporarily but will go in the living room when baby comes. This room is really tiny with the furniture in it! We just have a crib, the dresser/changing table combo, and the glider w/ ottoman. I wanted to put a toybox in somewhere but we are out of room!
Here are a few pics of the crib. I don't know if you can see it or not but this is the only wall that we have done the polka dot ribbon on so far. This wall will have her name letters above the crib:

Here is the built in shelf next to the window. The little rocker was mine when I was little and Savannah likes to rock in it when I am in the glider so she will probably use it until Tabitha gets bigger.


Here is the dresser/changing table combo. It still needs to be painted and have the rest of the knobs changed. We will move the tv somewhere, I'm just not sure where. The tv is for mommy when I am home for 8 weeks and nursing.



We moved my Nicholas to the dining room but it doesn't have doors yet. We still have to install them. Here it is now. I am going to paint an orange stripe over the chair rail since when I took off the flower border the paint came off the wall too.

6 weeks and 4 days to go!!!

So we are finally getting close! I went to the doctor this week and everything is looking good! My gestational diabetes is under control and I haven't had any high levels. They have all been in the normal range. Plus, I actually lost 3 pounds from my last appointment due to my diet. The doctor is not concerned because my belly is still growing and baby is growing. I have now only gained a total of 12 pounds. Yeah! It will be easier to get if off after! I have been feeling okay, just starting to get really uncomfortable sitting up straight at work and in the car so I have to tilt my chair back now. The doctor said if I get too uncomfortable she will write me a note to start my maternity leave sooner, which would be a very nice break.
Savannah and Nicholas are getting really excited too. We started painting the nursery and gathering the things that we do have together to put in the room. Now it seems more real since we have a room! Nicholas is moving into the dining room in which we are adding doors too and it is a much bigger room so he should like it. Tabitha will be in his old room. We finished painting the built-in shelves and have started painting the walls. We got the pink paint for the top half of the wall and will be working hard all weekend. Here are a few pics.
